Can’t Wait to Read! – May TBR!

Hello guys,

So, as I keep reading and reading, my TBR pile keeps growing and growing, and for this next upcoming month there’s no exception. May is a month that so many good books are about to come out–finally–after years of waiting, they get to be in my precious 17927395hands, and I am super excited about them:

  • A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas: This is the second book on the “A Court of Thorns and Roses” series, which came out last year in the month of May. So now, after exactly a year later, we finally get to continue this wonderful adventure with Feyre and Tamlin, an adventure that was long over due. I don’t like the cover on this particular book, I feel like ACOTAR’s cover was so much better design, but I won’t let that detail bring my hopes f the book down. She posted a picture on her instagram with a preview of the actual book, and I’m super excited because the book looks way much bigger than ACOTAR!  Can’t wait! It is out 5/3.
  • The Crown by Kiera Cass: This is the fifth and final book on “The Selection” series, and I jut hope Eadlyn get to solve many of her issues, because I w26074181as seriously disappointed with “The Heir.” I  loved the first 3 books on the series, I think that Kiera did an amazing job coming up with the stories, and plot of the book. The characters and guidelines for the book where very descriptive, and very well written. However, in this part of the story, Eadlyn is totally different from America. I hate to say it, but she’s a little bit of a brat and b*tch. I’m however excited to see with which suitor she ends up with–I am rooting for Kile! and  how this total mess unfolds. This one is supposed to come out 5/3.
  • Wh29328328at I Need by J. Daniels: This is a more adult-romance series, but I’m head over heels in love with it, I’ve been waiting for this 4th book in this series to come out since forever. “The Alabama Summer” series, is a really entertaining and very sexy series that I just can’t see, to get enough of–so much so, that I found myself re-reading the books every once in while. This story brings two characters together, characters that I’ve been dying to read of! Is supposed to come out May the 16th, I hope she doesn’t push the date.
  • The Problem with Forever by Jennifer Armentrout: I love JLA, I think she’s an amazing author, and the fact that she’s coming up with this new story has me all giddy. 26721568She usually writes strong new adult/ teen romance, however this one is more softy in terms of romance environment. Is based on a high school, and supposedly the main character in this book has been home-schooled all her life, but for her senior year she gets to go to a public high school, and apparently the first day she gets there, she sees this guy that she hasn’t seen in years, but that apparently used to be really close to. I am really excited to read this, and see this new perspective that JLA is bringing us from her world, and since I’d never read anything by her that was this sweet looking I think I would really like it. This one is coming out May 17.
  • The La16131489st Star by Rick Yancey: The last book on the “5TH Wave” series. I’m super excited to see the ending to this wonderful series. Granted–I haven’t read the second one yet, but I’m planning on doing it before the last one comes out. I really enjoyed the first book, I think that the actions scenes were really well developed, and well written. The author did a great job describing the character, and giving them different characteristics that made them unique from any other character that I’ve ever read. I’m dying to see how we put an end to the others. This one is supposed to come out the 24th of May.

So, that’s all for me. I wold probably read more than these books that month but those are my most anticipated ones, can’t wait to get my hands on them and actually jump into the adventures. Let me know what you think down in the comments, and if you find something in common with these short reviews I would love to talk about them with you. Thank you guys for reading! Have a day full of wonderful new reads.

I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson.

5/5 STARS.

SPOILER ALERT

This book was absolutely mind blowing. I loved everything about it. Noah and Jude are nothing as the character I imagined them to be. They’d impressed me. I usually don’t read books like this. At first when I picked this book, it was like

But then it shifted.

For me it was pretty incredible how the mind of the twins worked. Noah by the age of thirteen could draw galaxies with his brain, not to mention how good he was with his hands. It was unbelievable how his mind could create those worlds and how him and his sister had created situations in their brains that no thirteen or sixteen year old is able to.
When I was thirteen I wouldn’t even had one percent of the capability that the twi20820994ns have. The way that they interpret situations and life problems and transform them into some sort of a art piece. Beautiful. Just beautiful.
I like to think of both of their lives as simple art masterpieces.
Noah, he is a thirteen year old. He narrates the story around that age, and he’s going through some difficult times because of his sexuality. He is falling in love with the boy next door, but on top of that he has some issues with his best friend in the world, his sister. His sister is very popular and he isn’t. He is labeled as the weird kid. He likes to paint, he paints in his head, and every scenery that he is going through, he also paints. That’s what I like most about him. He sees the world in a different way, the way I wish I would’ve seen it when I was his age.
Then it transitions to his sister, Jude. She narrates the story at the age of sixteen, and in this part. The twin had switched papers, because of their mother’s death. She is a struggling artist that lives with lies. She has hurt so many people, especially his brother. He is no longer the way he used to be. He’s become popular and she’s the one left alone.
She got into the SCA not his brother, and she’s struggling with her presentations. In the end she has to go tutoring, with a mentor, that becomes somewhat very important in her life. His name is Guillermo Garcia. He’s tempered and always angry, but somehow he agrees to help her become better with her sculptures.
She meets Oscar Ralph, he is a very special character, because they are somehow meant to be. It’s beautiful, the way they turned out to be is just amazing.
I feel like I can’t get enough of this book. I marked every favorite part of the book, and I can’t seem to get enough. This book has so much knowledge that it blows your mind.
I definitively recommend it.

What have we become?

Risen in the night,
when our world collides.
Taking pills to survive,
afraid to get caught on the riptide.
Desperate for that need of attention,
falling in love with loneliness.
Making us scream with desperation,
waking up motionless.
Our purpose in life we don’t know,
discovering the future is terrifying enough,
and yet we never seem to get enough.

Who am I?

Waking up is so difficult.
Not just because the bed is comfy,
of because I went to sleep late last night,
is more the lack of motivation that I have to live a next day.
Do you know how hard it is to go to school each day,
and not know what are you doing there?
Wondering what the fuck are you doing with your life.
Do you know how hard it is to actually go outside and plaster a
fake smile on your face just because you don’t want people constantly
asking you the same question? “Are you okay?…”
Your answer is always yes, so I don’t know why they bother to ask,
when in reality no one cares.
Don’t get me wrong, I love life, and everyone in it,
it’s just that sometimes it is not enough.
Just let me be, things are not the way they used to be,
people only look for me when they need me,
but when I need them, they disappear.
I’ll live another day,
another day of fake smiles, fake laughs, and just a fake life,
because if not, then who am I?

The Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton

4.5/5 stars.

This was really amazing read. I’d never read a book with these types of characters on it. The whole scenery of this book was new for me. I didn’t know how to pronounce most of the words written on this book, but it was a really nice change. I’24934065ve been craving something like this for a long while now, I’m glad I’ve found this book.

The whole new culture presented in this book is one I’d never crossed path with before on books, so the fact that I got to do that now, for the first time, was really intriguing. All of the characters here were unique, things I’d never heard of–situations I couldn’t imagine begin to form of this wonderful story.

Amani, the desert girl, needs to get out of her home town, because she just can’t stand living there, and now that she has found the opportunity, she won’t let it go. Jin opens up a world full of danger and possibilities, a world full of hope and wonders, one that Amani has never been able to even imagine. The way the author describes the characters and most of the action scenes, is very powerful, you would submerge into a world of danger with the characters themselves.

I ask you to please join them in this new incredible adventure, where things you never imagine would occur.

I haven’t d20983362one a review in a while. Is not that I haven’t been reading, is more of the fact that I’m lazy af! (lol). If you click on the image you can see my spoiler review on goodreads!

Anyhow, this new story I have just finished reading has a lot to do with time travel. I haven’t read a time travel book, since forever–and I can’t remember the last time I read one this good. Oh, and BTW, the way this books smells is amazing. I am planning on making a perfume out of it (lol). (I laugh at my own jokes).

Henrietta Spencer–Etta–does not know that her life is about to change in one night, this book is full adventure, romance and good historical fiction. When Nicholas comes into the picture things get way more interesting. I was not expecting half the things that came up on this book, and to be honest I haven’t read any other books on Bracken, but this one is one that definitively had me super excited and always wanting to know what’s going on in the next chapter.

Nicholas and Etta get into a world where just a couple of days before Etta didn’t knew existed. I also love the fact that Nicholas is a sailor, I think that is super sexy, and so chivalrous. They are so beautiful together, and besides the impossibilities of the time, I think that they would be perfect together.

I look forward to reading the other book in this series, Bracken has managed to keep intrigued–which is always a challenge with me–can’t wait. And if you love to read about time travel, historical fiction, and romance, then this is the perfect book for you.

“I forget myself when I’m with you, I forget the rules. I forget every other living soul in this world. Do you understand?”- Alexandra Bracken.
